Us against them

Dear Editor:I am a member of the NRA and I am doing something about the "Madam of Benghazi." Hey, if the Clinton Foundation was collecting huge donations from foreign powers antagonistic to America while she was Secretary of State and her failure to protect/save the men at Benghazi, she gets the title. Don't believe me, check the emails! They're available thanks to Judicial Watch, the FOIA and hackers. I have seen the mountain, I have seen the mole-hill and I know the difference between the two. The "drive-by media" ain't got nothing on me.As for the political arena, it's us against ...

Voting for Hillary

Dear Editor,The other day I ran into a couple of friends and as conversations go these days we got into the Donald Trump thing.I don't know why I'm bothering with this letter as I'm pretty sure Donald Trump's mouth will lose him the election.I was asked who I'm voting for and I answered "Hillary Clinton," and their immediate response was "Why are you voting for crooked Hillary?" Now that's an exact repeat of Donald Trump's rantings.I'm in disbelief that any American would consider Mr. Trump as the leader of our wonderful country. He is a person who publicly denounced the Muslim religion ...

Thanks all around

Dear Editor:Thanks to all veterans, both active and retired, and both male and female, that attended the Veteran's Appreciation Picnic on Aug. 6.That was our day that we could thank them for all they have done for our country. Thanks to the sponsors that make this event possible. With their donations, we are able to put this on. Great Job!We hope to see all veterans again next August.Barbara FullertonEast Liverpool

Keep history local

Dear Editor:A tear in my heart. A tear in my eye.The County Home, another "built to last" historic structure in the oldest town in the state of Ohio, soon to be gone - perhaps to Atlanta, Ga., where they are paying $1 per each soft red brick. They want their history back, and want it authentic. Perhaps they will restore the staircase, and brag it is from the 1800s.When our history is gone, what will we pay to get it back? Perhaps $2 per soft red brick? Why don't the powers that be understand the one thing Lisbon has going for itself is its history? They don't know what they've got till ...

Trump not fit to lead

Dear Editor:Mr. Trump needs to return the purple heart medal given to him by a veteran that earned it. Trump is not entitled to wear it.For him to say he always wanted one and this was an easy way to get one, is not excusable.During the Vietnam war, Trump was a rich privileged person that got five draft deferments to stay out of the service and serve his country. Maybe had he served, he could have earned one for himself. Also for him to attack a gold star mother and father who lost a son serving our country and to be-little John McClain for being captured while defending our country shows ...

Turn on the lights

Dear Editor:To those in charge of safety with driving, I ask please turn on the city lights for the entrance and exit ramps off state Route 11, in downtown East Liverpool and Calcutta. It has been dark on the ramps in the downtown and Calcutta area for a long time. The safety of our drivers needs to be considered, especially during the long dark winter hours.I drive these ramps daily and have a hard time seeing the road at times and I am sure the senior citizens can voice their opinions on this matter also. Please help all drivers to drive with safety and to avoid a serious accident in the ...
