Make Chester Shine

Dear Editor:Thanks to all the Chester people who keep the entrance into Chester so beautiful. It's one of the best kept exits in this area. On the hill to the right is the former C.A. Smith house, and on the left, the historical Chester Tea Pot in all her glory. But don't look now, advertisements for beer line the intersection. They are almost out in the roadway. That's not what Chester is all about.Maybe some churches or local businesses could step up to the plate with some signs that would better represent our town. Tell our story. Dear Editor:In 1970 our president of the United States was Richard Nixon and VP was Spiro Agnew. Our population was 205,052,174 and unemployment rate was 3.5 percent. All My Children premiered on television and Diana Ross and the Supremes performed their farewell concert. Over 30 years ago the average income was $10,000. You could buy a home for $27,000. College? Higher education was only $400 - $1200 a year. A first class stamp was only 6 cents to send a letter home. To get home it would cost you 36 cents a gallon in a car that would cost $3,900. Dear Editor:"DJT vs HRC. These are the worst candidates for POTUS I have ever seen; I am just not going to vote." How many times have you heard this or the alternative: "I am looking at Gary Johnson?"While I can understand their frustration, I am wondering if these people should ever cast a ballot. There are positive developments though.CAA Health, Behavioral Health, and Dental Centers support the continuing effort in Ohio to bring Medicaid expansion to our working poor.
