Inviting anarchy

Dear Editor: Has it not been the media informing us for the last 30 years that America is no longer restricted by some outdated moral code? Instead of putting women on a pedestal because it’s sexist, they are sent to become special forces. This is nothing but feign outrage by the media to further their agenda to elect Hillary. As well, it is unrealistic to believe that lewd and vulgar language is a rarity amongst men or women at any level of society. Consider it the same as masturbation. Claim to do it, you are a damn fool, but deny that you do, you’re called a ...

Vote Cowey

Dear Editor: Paul Cowey is the only person running for Hancock County commissioner who cares about the issues. I say this because he attends every commission meeting and takes notes. None of the other candidates have done so. He talks to people attending the meetings, asks questions, and listens to concerns. No other person running for the Hancock County Commission has. Not one other candidate has shown any interest in speaking to the public about his vision for the county. The Republican candidate running for office moved to Hancock County just in time to meet the requirement ...

Get out and vote

Dear Editor: Let’s talk about Donald Trump, everybody’s doing it. Traveling through the area I see Trump stickers on cars and signs in people’s yards and I’m wondering, Why Trump? People are saying they want change. President Obama got millions of people medical insurance that couldn’t be gotten previously; he saved millions of jobs with a crippled auto industry; and he lived up to many of his promises, and would have done much more if the majority Republican congress didn’t hold him back. So, what’s to change? Some changes you’ll see for sure with a Trump ...

Why continue to aid addiction?

Dear Editor: Can we take a minute to discuss the ongoing, drastically growing drug epidemic going on in our communities? How ridiculous is it to you that drug addicts who choose to ruin their lives, continuously, have a free drug given to them, and then the ones who have no choice to be stung by a bee or ingest a peanut cannot afford their live saving drug? Can we talk about that? I seriously don’t understand how as a community, we can allow for multiple revivals done for drug users who choose their lifestyle! I guarantee everyone will say, “Well, you don’t understand ...

Support FISH

Dear Editor: FISH has helped our community for many years. We now need the community’s support. FISH is an agency that ministers in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by providing food for the needy in our community. Every month between 1,500 and 2,000 people receive food from our pantry. We are supported by a variety of grants and gifts from churches, businesses, and individuals of our community. For many years now, we have not needed to appeal to the community at large because of generous donations from various sources. But, we are being overwhelmed by the ...
