2 min read

Dear Editor;

On behalf of the Hancock County Health Department staff and the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, I would like to thank all walkers and sponsors for making "The Walk for Women ... Take a Step Against Breast Cancer Awareness" walk a success.

Our T-shirt sponsors included Weirton Medical Center, First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union, CHANGE Inc.  and Stuff With Attitude.

Thanks also goes out to Mountaineer Casino, Sparkle Market,  Fox's Pizza  Den, Sheetz, Eat N Park, Tudor's, Walmart, Ted's Plaza Pharmacy,  Kmart, Bob Evans, Weirton McDonald's,  Connie's Restaurant,  New Cumberland-RX, Kroger's-Three Springs Drive, Giovanni's, Donut Connection, Frank's Pastry, Cooper's Auto Body, Theo Yianni's, Weirton Shop N Save, Affordable Gifts, DiCarlo's Pizza in Newell, Convenient Food Mart, Sweet Temptations, Holiday Inn Weirton, Undo's, Ronnie Jones,  Commissioner Joe Barnabei and Wacky Jack's Balloons for their donations of raffle prizes.

Through their efforts, we were able to raise $1,500 for the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund.

Every dollar will remain in West Virginia and be placed in the fund to provide lifesaving services to the women in our  local communities.

Thanks to all for the generosity. We are already planning for the 2017 Awareness Walk.
