Dear Editor: A plethora of issues are being played out with bumper sticker venues that encourages willful ignorance and intellectual dishonesty. Two of these “bumper stickers” are of national concern while the third is a local issue. The first national bumper sticker is “gun control.” It’s the lazy mans heartstrings pulling, use the children, and involve big government agenda that erodes guaranteed rights. Helpful employees

Dear Editor: I know people hate paying taxes or even going to the tax office to file but I don’t think people appreciate and understand how lucky they are when dealing with the East Liverpool Tax Department. I have always had wonderful service and both ladies work very hard explaining the rules and the ins and out of the tax department. I just went this Tuesday to file my city taxes and as always they’re open right on time with a very friendly face. Student volunteers

Dear Editor: I’m writing to congratulate and commend the team of student volunteers for the superb job they did at last weekend’s Music and Art at Oak Glen festival. It was the fourth year for the festival, but first for me as a vendor, and I’m sure I’ll be back next year. It’s a great event, and brings an eclectic mix of culture and arts to the Tri-State Area. A capable team of student volunteers was assigned to help the vendors. Every one of the them was polite, well-spoken, friendly, and helpful. Dear Editor: Back in 1990, West Virginia made historic steps by participating in the first statewide teacher strike that lasted for 11 days. Here we are 28 years later and West Virginia made history again by staging a work stoppage for all education employees. You read about school districts striking or a business or trade striking, but an entire state of education employees; history was made.
