Frenzy over failure regarding gun control

To the editor: The current frenzy among members of the press, congressmen and other progressives to enact legislation for more gun control will result in hundreds of more pages of regulations which purport to prevent multiple slayings such have occurred recently. Their efforts will only end in failure. Perhaps the reason these mass murderers have carried out their heinous crimes is simply that they are unable to understand the present laws governing the use of firearms. Some believe enacting a “Red Flag Law” would prevent this slaughter. It may stop a few but it introduces a ...

Teaching Liberals how to laugh

To the editor: When's the last time you've heard a good hearty belly laugh? A genuine laugh right from the gut traveling all the way up to the top of the head? One that shakes the very core of one's being? Not in quite a while, I'll venture. On TV it's the programmed laughter of a claque responding on cue to a moldy joke told by the guest comedian, while a widespread viewer audience chortles along in a Pavlov's dog manner. For college frat brothers, it's yukking it up at a prank pulled off on some plebe, while for the frat sisters, it's tittering over some guy they think is cute. ...

Senate Bill 3 bad for our communities and children

Senate Bill 3 bad for our communities and children To the editor: Last fall Ohio voters overwhelmingly rejected Issue One, which sought to drastically reduce penalties on drug dealers and repeat drug offenders. Vets picnic event should have been rescheduled

Vets picnic event should have been rescheduled To the editor: It is the proper decision to cancel the veteran's picnic event due to unsafe weather conditions for Saturday, July 20, but once again, vets as myself, Vietnam era and vets from any era get pushed to back burner by not rescheduling the event for another weekend. Now we must wait until 2020. It's a good thing those who serve don't put serving off until it's the perfect time and weather. Vets deserve better treatment than to wait another year. Many vets might not be here in 2020. To those who hold this event are to be ...
