Thanks and appreciation for all of our police officers

To the editor: A special thanks and a note of respect and appreciation goes out to all local police officers in the tristate area. These brave men and women put their lives on the line each and everyday not know if they will live to see another day. I tip my hat to all of you for protecting us and putting your life on the line. In response to a Trump supporter

To the editor: I’m responding to the letter to the editor published May 22 from a reader stating her support for Trump. I see him much differently than she does. In her letter she states that she is thankful he wants our country and our economy to prosper. Right now it certainly isn’t. Most of the people prospering are wealthy and the ones who got the biggest tax cut. He hasn’t done much for the working class. She is thankful for how Trump handled the COVID virus. I’m certainly NOT thankful or happy how he handled the COVID crisis. If he had taken it seriously, when it was ...

Resident issues thanks to Gov. DeWine

To the editor: A special thanks goes out to Governor of Ohio DeWine. I was so pleased when he made the announcement that wearing masks would be optional for customers in stores and not a requirement. Recently we went to Amish country in Ohio and we're very pleased that we did not have to wear masks while shopping and we could be free Americans in our own state. So far the governor's plan seems to be working very good and I hope everything opens up soon 100 percent and the economy gets back to where it needs to be. Shane Kasunich, East Liverpool

Trump supporter addresses columnist

To the editor: I read an article by Connie Schultz asking us how we are now after three years of President Trump. The article was very anti-Trump with no facts. So Connie let me tell you I am after three years. I am someone who is thankful that the president loves this country and cares about the American people. I’m thankful he wants OUR country and OUR economy to prosper. I’m thankful he values lives. From the unborn to the senior citizens. I’m thankful he has put America first and has made it know that God watches over us. Most leaders in the world put their own countries ...

It is time to reopen America

To the editor: The danger has passed, the curve has been flattened, peaked, plateaued and is on the decline. Given the dire forecast models that our leaders were faced with at first drastic measures were the correct course of action. Thanks to those measures the hospitals and medical system are not overwhelmed, extra hospitals built by the Army Corps of Engineers were under used or not used at all. We need to reopen the America, not so the President can brag about his economy, but because people are hurting. The worst-case scenario never came. The highly contagious Covid-19 is not ...

Try looking at past tragedies and hardships

To the editor: As we watch the evening news and the talking heads present us with the doom and gloom that this virus is causing us in 2020, I’m sure we all feel more than a little concerned. After all we are watching — according to everyone from “entertainment ,” talk show hosts and news anchors — an unprecedented disruption. We are experiencing (according to the “experts”) a world crisis no one has ever seen. Economies are cratering, jobless rates are skyrocketing, and as of May we have over 50,000 deaths in American alone. “MORE THAN THE VIETNAM WAR” – OMG!! ...
