During times of turmoil, trust in the Lord

To the editor: I have been thinking about all the things that have happened in the last four months. The virus and all the new words I have learned like "virtual," "stay at home," "the new normal," and so many others. What has gotten into us? We have protests for almost anything. To the editor: My first contact with Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary (AAAS) was after I bought my first house and wanted my very own first dog. I called to make an appointment and when I went in the girl working spent quite a few hours trying to find us the right one. “Romeo” ended up being the best dog I’ve ever had and one I’ve never been able to replace. He had been dropped off at AAAS as a puppy. He was adopted and then brought back after a year. He had spent another year at the shelter by the time I got him. Folks, for your own safety and the sanity of all delivery drivers everywhere, please put your house number, clearly visible, on the front of your house! If you have a long driveway from the road to your home, put it at the end of the driveway. Reaction to comments by Wellsville officials

To the editor: I am disappointed to learn of the reaction that certain Wellsville officials have had in learning that their recent CDBG application had not been funded. As my office provides guidance to the commissioners regarding the CDBG program, I thought it important to help set the record straight. Part of my responsibility with the CDBG program is to review projects and make recommendations regarding which should be funded. To the editor:  Locust Hill Cemetery wishes to thank all the hard-working volunteers who came out for the Memorial Day clean up this year. The generosity of the community supporters, members of the Chester VFW, American Legion and Fire Department was overwhelming and very much appreciated. Thank you to all involved in not only the physical labor but also to the many people who made monetary donations toward the event. Dear Secretary White: We write again to inquire about the state of the Route 2 project in New Cumberland. On January 27, the undersigned legislators and members of the Hancock County Commission met with your deputy, Jimmy Wriston, to urge that the WVDOH move forward with Alternative 5A.
