– Scott Reynolds, age and address not provided, was issued citations for failing to signal, fictitious plate and driving under suspension during a May 11 traffic stop on state Route 30.

– After receiving the third complaint in less than a week about goats running loose on Dresden Avenue on May 11, an officer went to the Pauls Lane residence to speak with the owner but was unable to get to the front door because of two aggressive dogs chained up at the residence. The officer honked his horn several times trying to get someone to come to the door but got no response. The officer noted he did not see any type of enclosure for the goats and would be issuing a charge for Brian Noble for animals at large.

– A male came to the police station on May 11 to file a report for an unknown male removing items from a condemned house on Vernia Street.

– Officers informed a female caller that smoking marijuana isn’t illegal in Ohio after she called officers to a Laura Avenue residence on May 11 to complain about the smell. She told officers she was concerned because the odor was strong, and her children were home. Officers told her they were unable to do anything about the odor.

– An officer investigating a loose dog after receiving a call from an Ogden Street resident about it on May 11, located the dog owner at her Jackman Street resident. The owner said her son was walking the dog, and he accidentally let it loose. The officer warned her that if any more incidents occurred, she could be cited.

– Officers investigated a possible domestic situation between a mother and her juvenile son at their Blakely Street residence on May 11. Officers spoke with the mother and juvenile who both said it was only a verbal argument.

– Officers spoke with a female at her East Fourth Street apartment who told them on May 11 that someone had been in her apartment while she was gone and unscrewed the screw that held her window air conditioner in place and that it has been a recurring issue.

– An officer spoke with a juvenile at her Pennsylvania Avenue residence after her mother called police to say that her daughter wanted to go with her father, but she was in custody. The mother showed the officers custody paperwork which showed the father has visitation and the mother said she was just upset because she wanted her daughter to clean her room. The juvenile said she does not want to live with her mother. Officers spoke with the father who said he was going to try to seek more custody.

– Officers investigating a 911 hang-up at an Edwards Street residence on May 11 spoke with the caller who said there was a male and female yelling while walking behind the motel and gave the officer a description of them.

– A male called the police station on May 12 to inquire about a dispute with his landlord who he says shut the water off to his Etruria Street residence, so he had to vacate the property, and to report the landlord had made a Facebook post regarding the condition of the property and named the tenant in the post and see if he could be made to take the post down. Officers advised him to ask the court about having the post removed when he goes in for his eviction hearing.

– Hancock County dispatch asked officers on May 12 to sit near the West Virginia border because they had received a tip that a male from the area was supposed to be on his way to West Virginia to harm a female. Officers went to the locations on state Route 39 and Newell Bridge. The male’s phone kept pinging in St. Clair Township, so officers cleared the area after waiting an hour.

– A male called the police station on May 12 to say that he was force-fed narcotics and needed medical attention. When officers arrived at his Anna Street residence they noted he appeared to possibly be under the influence of narcotics and stood by with the male for his safety until East Liverpool Fire Department arrived to treat the male and transport him to the hospital

– An officer spoke to a Moore Street resident on May 12 who wanted to report items stolen from his car while he was in jail.

– An officer was called to a Woodlane Avenue residence in Midland on May 13 to assist a Midland officer with a female who was cutting her throat and wrist and stood by until the female was placed in an ambulance.

– An officer took a walk-in complaint on May 13 from a person wanting to report that a white pickup truck allegedly had not moved from in front of the dog groomers on West Sixth Street for several weeks.

– An officer spoke with an employee at Dollar General on May 13 regarding a theft and criminal trespass complaint. The manager told officers a male who has been trespassed from the store since 2024 came into the store with a dog and grabbed a Mountain Dew, a Celsius drink and a retractable dog leash and possibly some Gain scent beads and left the store without paying. The manager filled out a written report and attached a receipt for the stolen items totaling $49.97.

– An officer stood by at a Riley Avenue residence on May 13 while a female gathered her belongings. She told the officer she came home from work and found a condemned sign on the house, and she needed to get clothes and baby food out.

– Officers spoke to a female at an Erie Street residence on May 13 who wanted to file a report for a male attempting to remove her air conditioner. She spoke with officers about past incidents involving the male and said she planned to seek a protection order.

– An officer returning from Chester, West Virginia, on May 13 was stopped by a Hancock County deputy who had a vehicle pulled over on the on ramp to come across the Randolph Jennings Bridge and was told by the deputy that the male in the vehicle had an active warrant in Ohio. The officer provided dispatch with the name of the male Ronald Mayhew Jr., 40, address not provided, and was advised Mayhew had an active warrant out of Columbiana County. After the deputy issued Mayhew a citation for the traffic stop, the officer took Mayhew into custody and transported him to Columbiana County Jail.

– A female came to the police station on May 13 to say that her neighbor was violation a protection by the neighbor having a camera on their property pointing toward her steps. Officers viewed the picture the female took of the camera and said it was not violating a protection order due the neighbor having it on her own residence and where the camera pointing is public view.

– Officers responded to a call to assist highway patrol on May 13 on Dresden Avenue. A trooper had a male that was failing to identify himself and wanted to know if officers knew him. The officers were able to provide the trooper with information he was looking for.

– Officers with those from St. Clair and Liverpool townships on May 13 investigated a Vine Street residence where the resident said he showed up there and saw his doors kicked in and thinks someone may be in his attic. The residence was searched and no one was inside. Officers noticed the attic window open but saw no one in the area.

Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:06 p.m. Thursday to Ag-Pro, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, for a video alarm of a semi truck backing up to the building. The deputy spoke with the driver, who had paperwork for a delivery in the morning.

— The Counseling Center called at 7:28 p.m. Thursday to request a welfare check on a person on Spillway Road, Hanover Township, who was having suicidal thoughts. A deputy spoke with the person, who said they were fine.
