Man convicted of assault with a firearm appeals sentence

LISBON — A Lisbon man sentenced to at least nine years in prison in August filed an appeal recently to challenge his punishment. Hunter Congrove, 23, state Route 45, could face a maximum 12 years in prison if the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections chooses to keep him inside at the end of the nine years, dependent on his behavior in jail. EAST LIVERPOOL — The Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) Finance Committee met prior to the full board of trustees meeting Sept. 16 to discuss and review the CIC’s current loans and account balances. Committee member Connie Javens told the board that all loans made to area businesses, including Coppa’s Mutts & Cuts, D’s Crafts and Cravings LLC, Kerr (M&K Winery) and Ray Stephens, who has three outstanding, are all overdue in their payments.
