EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool has received funding for a mural on a Fifth Street building. Mayor Bobby Smith told city council members Monday the city has been awarded a mural grant through the efforts of Lisa Painter, deputy director of LeapHub. The mural will be painted on the building that will be occupied by Goodwill. Smith said Westgate students will design the mural showing the history of East Liverpool. LISBON — A new pretrial has been scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 31 in the case against Heather J. Birkmire, who’s accused of cruelty to animals in the deaths of five horses last year at Pure Gold Stables in Salem Township. “I did receive a sizable amount of discovery I’m trying to go through.
