Hancock commissioners push Brown’s Island as potential Market Street Bridge solution

NEW CUMBERLAND — While not currently on the list of possible options for a replacement of the Market Street Bridge, Hancock County commissioners are hoping highway officials may consider a route that would cross Brown’s Island. Man sentenced for impaired driving has case remanded to trial court

LISBON — A man sentenced to prison last year for allegedly being impaired during a 2023 crash which seriously injured a woman is out of jail after an appeals court agreed his blood sample wasn’t refrigerated properly. Christopher C. Mele, 66, Lucretia Lane, Columbiana, appeared for a status hearing Friday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court with his defense attorney David Betras before Judge Megan Bickerton. Driver accused in fleeing pedestrian death faces felony charges

LISBON — The driver accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene the evening of Feb. 4 on Bradshaw Avenue in East Liverpool is now facing felony charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide. Tracy C. Quimby, 34, Jackman Street, East Liverpool, was served Thursday with the secret indictment issued last month by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.
