LISBON — The man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend after allegedly running her over last year in East Liverpool has new appointed counsel after his hired attorneys withdrew and he was declared indigent. Buckeye Water District adopts policy for water loss due to apparatus failure

WELLSVILLE — The Buckeye Water District (BWD) Board of Trustees recently adopted a policy for water loss due to an apparatus failure. The policy was a result of issues with the operation of the Mueller Meter Pitt Apparatus which could result in the meter registering excessive usage for water that passes through that meter and leaks on the customer side. The policy will determine how water usage charges will be calculated during the billing cycle. CVFD requests grant application for communications equipment

CALCUTTA — Firefighter Jacob Roush, Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department, addressed St. Clair Township trustees on behalf of the fire department during Monday requesting they file a grant application for $50,000 for new communications equipment. Roush told the trustees it is a grant for new MARCS radios through the Ohio State Fire Marshal and the $50,000 for which he wants to apply is the maximum allowed.
