Newell teen killed in ATV crash

NEW CUMBERLAND — A Newell teenager is dead following an ATV crash Friday afternoon. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal crash that took the life of 16-year-old Carter Pesacreta. Deputies responded to the call at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wylie Ridge Road in Weirton, near the intersection of Anderson Lane. The preliminary investigation indicates that the 16-year-old operator of the ATV lost control causing it to leave the roadway and roll over an embankment off the roadway edge.
