CLEVELAND (AP) — Mitchell Mesenbrink and Levi Haines each won their second individual championship Saturday to help Penn State win its fifth consecutive team title at the NCAA men’s wrestling championships. Penn State, which clinched the team title during the consolation matches earlier Saturday, finished with four national champions and a record 181.5 points, breaking its own mark of 177 set last year. Crestview seeks new league home but options are limited

COLUMBIANA — Crestview’s athletic department has known the days of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division were numbered and this week it was confirmed with the departure of the remaining Trumbull County teams from the league by the end of the next school year. GARFIELD HEIGHTS — Garfield Heights senior Marcus Johnson now has bragging rights in the family. A year after becoming Ohio’s Mr. Basketball like his father and coach, Sonny Johnson, he is now a two-time winner of the award. The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association (OPSMA) announced Johnson’s selection Thursday as this season’s Ohio Mr. Basketball, becoming the first two-time winner since Luke Kennard of Franklin in 2014 and ’15.
