Municipal LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Feb. 25 for Robert L. Byrd III, 27, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, fourth-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanors of expired license, no license and expired license plates. Byrd was accused of allegedly assaulting a woman on July 6, 2025 in Rogers by slamming her leg in her car door, grabbing her by the throat and shoving her into her car, causing her to hit her head. Wellsville —Officers transported a juvenile female on Feb. 10 to stay with her grandmother after filing a report with CPS per the CPS worker’s advice. Police were called to McDonald’s after the juvenile arrived and clung to pole which her mother was trying to pull her off while the juvenile screamed her mother had been trying to suffocate her. An officer who examined the juvenile’s neck saw black marks, but the juvenile said it was a skin condition. Municipal A pretrial was set April 29 for John A. White, 62, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, charged with theft for allegedly stealing two items totaling $17 from Hull’s Super Duper, state Route 172, East Rochester on Feb. 6. Devon T. Herring, 31, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $300 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for theft, with a second counts of theft dismissed. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and make restitution of $864 to Salem Walmart. He’ll receive credit off of his fine for completing a theft prevention course. Court News LISBON — A Lisbon man accused of pushing a corrections officer at the Columbiana County jail last year was sentenced to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to assault, a fifth-degree felony. Donovain M. Casey, 20, Roller Coaster Road, entered the plea in county Common Pleas Court recently. He was charged with pushing the corrections officer while he was an inmate at the county jail on April 23, 2025.
