Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy at 4:44 p.m. Sunday returned a call to a Center Township resident at Traveler’s Inn, state Route 45, regarding a civil matter.
— A traffic complaint was reported at 3:53 p.m. Sunday on Walnut Ridge Road, Washington Road. A deputy returned the call regarding the complaint three times, but was sent to a disconnected voicemail.
— Ohio Department of Administrative Services, Columbus, reported an alarm drop at 10:50 p.m. Saturday at the MARCS tower building on Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township. The fence around the tower and the doors on the building appeared secure.
— Columbiana police requested deputies assist them at 7:09 p.m. Saturday with a person who has active warrants and is on foot in the 200 block of Pittsburgh Street, Columbiana. Deputies and New Waterford police checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.
— A firearm was reported missing from inside a North Street residence, Knox Township at 6:03 p.m. Saturday.
— An animal-related issue was reported at 2:47 p.m. Saturday by an Elkrun Township resident in the area of state Route 154.
— A welfare check was requested at 8:20 p.m. May 21 on Meadow Wood Drive, Salem. A deputy spoke to the people and they advised they were okay.
— A noise complaint was reported at 7:09 p.m. May 21 on Old Irondale Road, Yellow Creek Township.
— A menacing complaint was reported at 6:36 p.m. May 21 at Pondi’s, state Route 45, Lisbon.
— A woman on Walnut Ridge Road, Washington Township reported at 10:24 p.m. May 20 that a man she knows from Canton came to her residence and was sleeping upstairs but she wanted him removed and off of her property due to having a warrant. Dispatch advised the warrant was active through the Adult Parole Authority. He left prior to deputies arriving.
— A woman on Kevin Drive, Knox Township reported at 8:10 p.m. May 20 that the neighbors were yelling at her 16-year-old daughter and started walking toward her. A deputy spoke with them and they said they were not yelling at the girl, they were yelling at their dog that took off out of their residence and was loose.
— A woman on Walnut Street, Butler Township reported at 5:59 p.m. May 20 that her husband made suicidal threats with a firearm on May 17 and she was staying with family in Sebring and afraid to go home. Deputies spoke with him and he said he’s afraid of her. Both were advised how to get a protection order.
— A woman on Country Club Drive, Butler Township, reported at 5:11 p.m. May 20 that someone entered her residence. There was no forced entry on any doors or windows, but items on a table were moved around.
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:24 p.m. May 20 to Black Road, Center Township for a vehicle parked along the road the past four to five days. The deputy found the vehicle was a road hazard and the license plates were expired. Attempts were made to contact the registered owner of Salineville. Baking Towing removed the vehicle and transported it to their impound lot.
— Glo Fiber reported at 2:25 p.m. May 20 that wire was stolen from a telephone pole in the 41000 block of Old Irondale Road, Yellow Creek Township.
— A man on state Route 165, Unity Township reported at 10:36 p.m. May 19 that he had a brush pile on his property, left and when he returned, the pile was on fire. The fire was under control and he said he did not give permission to anyone to burn the brush pile.
— A deputy was dispatched at 6:05 p.m. May 19 to McCann Road, Butler Township for a domestic violence report. Warrants were issued for an Alliance man through Columbiana County Municipal Court for domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
— A man on Rose Drive, Center Township called 911 at 4:41 p.m. May 19 saying he took a bunch of pills and was having thoughts of suicide. He was walking on U.S. Route 62 in Knox Township. Deputies and Homeworth and Sebring EMS made contact with him. He was transported by Sebring EMS to Salem Regional Medical Center.
East Liverpool
— Officers responding to Thompson Park for a report of a female attacked by a dog on May 5 was told by the woman that the dog was chasing her through the woods but did not attack her. After officers were advised by dispatch that the female was a missing person from Chester, West Virginia, the officer placed her in their cruiser while they waited for more information on the female. The female was then transported to Chester.
— Michael Blair, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for a loud exhaust during a May 5 traffic stop on West 6th Street.
— An officer advised a mother that her 4-year-old and 8-year-old children were too young to be playing unsupervised after responding to her Jennings Road residence on May 5 for a report of her young children playing unsupervised in the road.
— Officers responding to a Mapletree Street residence for a complaint of someone walking around outside their house spoke with the resident who had already made multiple calls within a couple of days with the same complaint and noted the residence showed some signs of possible mental health issues. Officers looked around his house and were unable to see any signs of anybody on the property. Officers seeing that the resident was of no threat to himself, or anyone else advised him to call his case worker.
— An officer searched the parking lot of East Liverpool City Hospital at the request of hospital security on May 6 for a car that was reported to be running for several hours.
— An officer searched an area of Dresden Avenue on May 6 for goats reported to be loose.
— Two Cora Street residents were advised on how to seek a protection order against a male who was talking badly about their children after they responding to a complaint of the person standing outside their house and making threats towards them on May 6.
— Officers on May 6 spoke to a male at a Cora Street residence who told them a male had come to his residence threaten to beat him up and accused him of posting pictures of him and his child on social media.
— Officers investigated a possible fire at a Cora Street residence on May 6. When they arrived, they smelled smoke but weren’t sure where it was coming from. The fire department and ambulance arrived on scene and made contact with the homeowner who opened the door yelled there is no fire and slammed the door shut.
— An officer helped a driver move his disabled car from the entrance to the Stowers building on Webber Way after the driver flagged him down for help on May 6.
— Officers investigated reports of gun shots from the area of McKee and Gardendale on May 7. Officers checked the area and did not find anything except remnants from different types of fireworks.
— Stanley Diamond, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for a speed of 68 mph in a 55-mph zone during a May 7 traffic stop on state Route 39.
— Officers spoke with a female on May 7 who was reported to be suicidal and was told by the female that she was just walking around because her uncle was drunk and she didn’t want to be around him and when asked she told the officer she was not thinking of hurting herself or others.
— Dante Wells, 22, a passenger in a car, was identified as having an outstanding warrant during a May 7 traffic stop on Broadway Street and taken into custody.
— Officers spoke to a male at a Vine Street residence on May 7 who told officers his car was damaged and it was his ex-wife and boyfriend who were driving by it.
— David Gasior, age and address not provided, was cited for an open container after an officer saw him sitting on a concrete pad on Poplar Lane on May 7 with a half full beer and several empty beer cans around him.
— Officers investigated a drug complaint at an abandoned house on St John Street on May 7.
— An officer spoke to a Cora Street couple on May 7 who said that a male they have been having issues with was walking by their house and slowed down to record their residence and that it has been an ongoing problem with the male posting his residence and children on social media and they fear he may try to harm their children. The couple were advised on how to get a protection order.
