Court News LISBON — An East Liverpool man charged with passing bad checks had his case dismissed recently after being found still not competent and unable to be restored to competency. Shawn Peddicord, 44, Wilbert Avenue, was charged with one count of fourth-degree felony passing bad checks for allegedly attempting to defraud a man with a check written for $17,650 on Jan. 30, 2025. Peddicord had previously been found not competent, but was ordered into outpatient treatment in an attempt to restore his competency. Sheriff’s Office —A deputy was dispatched at 6:39 p.m. Thursday to Creek Road, New Waterford for an aggravated menacing report, with a warrant issued through Columbiana County Municipal Court for a North Lima man for aggravated menacing. St. Clair Township — An officer investigating a report of a downed tree on Dale Street on June 17, notified that the tree was covering the entire roadway with wires down. The fire department and AEP were notified.

Court News LISBON — A Salem man accused of drug charges was sentenced to 12 months in prison during a sentencing hearing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Jerry L. Malone II, 45, West Fifth Street, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs and two counts possession of drugs, all fifth-degree felonies. He also received a mandatory $5,000 fine. Malone possessed methamphetamine, alprazolam and clonazepam on July 23, 2024.
