Hancock County Schools updating wellness policy

NEW CUMBERLAND — Hancock County Schools is continuing to accept public comments on proposed changes to the district’s wellness policy. The policy, listed as Policy EJ by the county school district, was last updated in 2023. The proposed revisions entered a 30-day public comment period at the end of June and include several amendments involving nutrition, physical activity and student wellness. LISBON — Columbiana County Park District board members rehired Lisa Shafer of Salem as the district’s new administrative assistant, noting she previously did the job for nearly three years before resigning in January.
