LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — The Liverpool Township trustees Tuesday approved a resolution of necessity requesting the county auditor to certify tax valuation information in anticipation of a levy in excess of the ten-mill limitation. During discussion over the need for a fire levy, trustee Mike Bahen noted that the Liverpool Township Volunteer Fire Department, which has two stations, is receiving less than half of what other departments with one station are receiving. Two injured in roll over crash in Liverpool Township

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — Two sisters were injured Tuesday morning during a roll over crash on Westfield Road in Liverpool Township. Details as to what may have caused the crash which occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m., were not provided. The vehicles airbags deployed, but it is unknown if seatbelts were worn. Court News LISBON — An East Liverpool man charged with passing bad checks had his case dismissed recently after being found still not competent and unable to be restored to competency. Shawn Peddicord, 44, Wilbert Avenue, was charged with one count of fourth-degree felony passing bad checks for allegedly attempting to defraud a man with a check written for $17,650 on Jan. 30, 2025. Peddicord had previously been found not competent, but was ordered into outpatient treatment in an attempt to restore his competency. Highway Patrol — Two accidents related to the storms on June 14 were reported with no citations issued. Theresa A. Shasteen, 78, Votaw Boulevard, Lisbon, suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported by Winona EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown after a utility pole fell and struck her southbound vehicle on Depot Road at 5:27 p.m. in Butler Township. Zachary W. Taylor, 35, Canfield, was northbound on Fairfield School Road, Elkrun Township at 5:44 p.m. when he struck a tree in the roadway. He wasn’t injured.
