Annual Greenway Trail Day celebrates history, reading and outdoor recreation July 11

LEETONIA – The Friends of the Greenway Trail invite outdoor enthusiasts of all ages to the annual Greenway Trail Day on July 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To keep trail-goers fueled, water stops featuring refreshments and light snacks will be stationed at the Lisbon, Teegarden Covered Bridge, Franklin Square and Leetonia parking lot areas along the route. St. Clair Township trustees approve officer resignation

CALCUTTA – The St. Clair Township Police Department is losing an officer. St. Clair Township Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the St. Clair Township Board of Trustees during Monday’s meeting that officer Chase Askounes submitted his resignation effective June 22. Trustees Robert Swickard and James Sabatini II voted to accept and approve the resignation. Trustee Jordan Williams did not vote due to being absent and excused from the meeting. Sheriff’s Office — Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident on state Route 154 with reported injuries at 9:05 p.m. Friday, aiding EMS units with rending care to the people involved.
