2 civil lawsuits filed in crash that killed trooper on Route 11 in Mahoning County

YOUNGSTOWN (WKBN) – Two civil lawsuits have been filed in connection with a crash that killed a local trooper on State Route 11 in Mahoning County. Trooper Nicholas Cayton was killed in October 2025 when his cruiser was rear-ended by a Mack truck driven by a Canfield man. Cayton had stopped to assist a disabled tractor-trailer along Route 11, just south of Route 224, when the crash happened. WELLSVILLE – During the finance portion of Monday’s Wellsville school board meeting, board members voted in favor of a motion to approve the final permanent appropriations for fiscal year 2026 and gave the approval to amend the final certificate of resources for fiscal year 2026. County treasurer extends second-half property tax deadline, launches online payment system

LISBON — Columbiana County property owners won’t have to pay their 2026 second-half real estate taxes until Aug. 21 after the July 29 due date was extended following approval by the Ohio Tax Commissioner.
