East Liverpool High School recognizes April Scholar of the Month
Cheyenne Taggart
EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool High School recognizes Cheyenne Taggart as the April Scholar of the Month.
Cheyenne, daughter of Tammy Taggart and Mark Stewart, has demonstrated outstanding dedication to academics, career readiness, and community service throughout her high school career. While balancing school and work, she has maintained a 3.0+ GPA during both her junior and senior years and has completed more than 60 hours of community service.
For over a year, Cheyenne has worked as a dietary assistant at the Orchards, where she has built meaningful relationships with residents and consistently brings positivity and compassion to her role.
A student in the Public Safety Career and Technical Program, Cheyenne has earned Telecommunicator, OSHA, and CPR certifications, achieving advanced scores on all required exams. She has also gained valuable hands-on experience through visits to local police departments, fire stations, and East Liverpool dispatch. She currently serves as Vice President of SkillsUSA and will compete at the state level in Urban Search and Rescue during her senior year. She previously competed in the SkillsUSA Criminal Justice competition as a junior.
In addition to her academic and career achievements, Cheyenne has been actively involved in athletics. She lettered in soccer from her sophomore through senior year, earning the Coach’s Award her junior year, and also participated in cross country. In softball, she lettered her sophomore year and earned the Most Improved Award.
Cheyenne is also involved in several school organizations, including French Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Culture Club, and Booster Club, consistently demonstrating strong school spirit and leadership.
She was nominated by Erika Martino, who shared, “Cheyenne is one of those students who is always doing the right thing and succeeding, but often goes unnoticed. She has grown and changed so much and truly deserves to be recognized. She is always on task, helpful, and shows Potter Pride daily.”
After graduation, Cheyenne plans to work full-time while attending Kent State University at Salem to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education.
