KSU Columbiana County tours
Kent State University’s Columbiana County campuses are hosting Discover Kent State open houses for parents and students to learn more about the programs offered locally. Kent State East Liverpool’s open house is Tuesday, March 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Mary Patterson Building, located at 213 E. Fourth St. Kent State Salem’s open house is Wednesday, March 13, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the main building located at 2491 state Route 45 South. At each event, faculty and staff members will be available to share information about specific degree programs and majors. Additionally, representatives will explain the admissions and transfer process; share financial aid information; provide details about scholarship opportunities; and lead tours of the facilities. For those who cannot attend an on-site event, a virtual session is scheduled for March 31 at 5:30 p.m. To register for a DKS session, or the virtual session, use the link at www.kent.edu/columbiana/admissions-events. EL KSU award nominations
Kent State University at East Liverpool is accepting nominations for its Lifetime Achievement Award and the Friends of the Kent State East Liverpool Award. The deadline for nominations is March 29. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes Kent State graduates or former students for their professional accomplishments and community involvement. Nominees must have attended and/or received a degree from the East Liverpool Campus. The Friends of Kent State University at East Liverpool Award honors individuals who work to improve the community and who support the university’s mission to provide quality education to the tri-state area. Anyone can nominate individuals for these awards. To request a nomination form, contact Tina Smith, public relations coordinator, at 330-382-7430 or at tsmit170@kent.edu. Nomination forms are also available at the reception desk in Purinton Hall, located at 400 E. Fourth St. Award recipients will be recognized at the campus awards banquet on May 2 at the East Liverpool Masonic Lodge. The event will also honor students for their academic and community service achievements.
