1946-2025 James L. Gibas, 79, of East Liverpool, passed away on Oct. 22, 2025. He was born on April 29, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Pelagia (Horosnko) Gibas. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Still) Gibas. He was a retired carpenter, working under Carpenters Local 186. He was a veteran of the Army, serving on 1099 Medium Boat Co., nick-named “River Rats,” a member of the Columbiana County Fish and Game Association, National Veterans Association and the NRA. She was born on March 30, 1986 in East Liverpool the daughter of Russell McHenry of South Carolina, and the late Sherri (Henthorne) Hull. Besides her father, she is survived by three sons, Alex Smith and Leland McHenry, both of East Liverpool, and Zayden Burton of West Virginia.
