Beaver Valley Power Station transitioning to new alert system

By the beginning of 2027, residents of the Tri-State Area will have a new way to receive alerts for tests and emergencies at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station. “We’ll be updating our warning systems,” Jennie Steifel, off-site emergency preparedness specialist for the station, explained while appearing before Hancock County commissioners during their meeting Friday morning. Section of Stookesberry Road closed for flooding issue LISBON — A section of Stookesberry Road is closed for now where there’s a dip and the road is flooded over off of state Route 45 outside Lisbon. Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson announced the closure, which happened Sunday after heavy rains, saying the creek coming down near a culvert has flooded over the road, adding “there’s nothing we can do.
