NEW CUMBERLAND -- A Newell teenager is dead following an ATV crash Friday afternoon.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fatal crash that took the life of 16-year-old Carter Pesacreta. Deputies responded to the call at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wylie Ridge Road in Weirton, near the intersection of Anderson Lane.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the 16-year-old operator of the ATV lost control causing it to leave the roadway and roll over an embankment off the roadway edge.
The crash investigation remains ongoing.
First Responders assisting in the at the scene include the Hancock County Ambulance Service, Oakland Fire Department, New Cumberland, Fire Department, Weirton Fire Department, and the New Cumberland Police Department.
