Wellsville library to hold book sale

WELLSVILLE — The Friends of the Wellsville Library will be holding a book sale for the Wellsville Carnegie Public Library, 115 9th St., May 13 through 16. Funds raised will go toward library programming. The library is introducing a $5 preview evening to be held on May 13 from 2 to 5:30 p.m. The book sale will take place on May 14 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on May 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On May 16, which is $3 bag day, the sale will be from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. The event will have a wide variety of products with something for everyone including adult and children’s books ...

Museum of Ceramics to host lecture on local American pottery and design

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Museum of Ceramics, 400 E 5th St., invites the public to attend a special lecture May 16 at 4 p.m. The lecture, “American Pottery – American Aesthetics and the Twentieth Century” which will be presented by David Sneer, senior product designer, Fiesta Tableware Company, will provide “insight into the evolution of ceramic design and its connection to broader trends in American culture and manufacturing,” according to a press release. Giant Eagle recalls roasted turkey sold in prepared foods

PITTSBURGH – Giant Eagle, Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of roasted turkey items produced at Fresh Foods Manufacturing in Freedom, Pennsylvania and sold in the prepared foods departments in Giant Eagle and Market District locations across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Indiana due to the potential presence of metal fragments.
