East Liverpool City Hospital achieves national status as a Straight “A” for patient safety

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool City Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 17th consecutive grading round by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. This designates East Liverpool City Hospital as a “Straight A” hospital, defined as hospitals that have an A for Spring 2026 and have sustained that grade for the last five or more grading rounds. East Liverpool community center continues to serve as activity hub for area residents

EAST LIVERPOOL — It has been over 10 years now since three area businessmen shared the idea that our community needed a community center where people from throughout the area could meet with family and friends. Insurance Agent Steve Cooper, Teacher Mike Parkes and former banker and lawyer Charles Lang were all in agreement that the community was in need of a place and they looked unsuccessfully in the downtown area. Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church May 4, with Mary Gailey, facilitator, presiding. The best loser was Dena White and the runner up was Cathy Wollam. They chose potato chips and deep fried foods as the junk food for the coming week. The drawing winners were: 50/50, Pat Allison; food chart, Cindy Hays; weight loss, Darla Varney; junk food, White; and jackpot, Gailey. Cheryl Myers and White lost three weeks in a row.
