EAST LIVERPOOL — Medina Christian Academy is making waves in Columbiana County.

East Liverpool held off the Knights in overtime for a 50-49 win Saturday at the Potter Fieldhouse.

The Potters improve to 6-4. The Knights lost their second in a row to fall to 7-3.

Medina Christian defeated East Palestine last year and Leetonia two years ago.

East Liverpool will host 6-2 Brooke on Tuesday, while Medina Christian entertains East Canton on Thursday.

Conotton Valley 58, Southern 27

BOWERSTON — Conotton Valley junior Kaden Leggett had a classic game in the Conotton Valley Classic.

Leggett set a school record with nine three-pointers to highlight the Rockets’ 58-27 win over Southern Local on Saturday. He totaled 31 points along with four assists, two rebounds and two steals.

The Rockets improve to 6-6, while the Indians drop to 1-10.

Landen Heffner topped Southern with 15 points and five rebounds. Mason Pitts added six points, Jack Pitts three points and five rebounds, Ben Paxson two points and Aiden Davis one point.

Southern will host EOAC-leader Lisbon on Tuesday.

Buckeye Trail 81, Heartland Christian 67

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Heartland Christian suffered its second loss of the week as Buckeye Trail posted an 81-67 victory Saturday at the ECO Center.

Both teams are 10-2 on the season with the Warriors winning their last seven games.

Heartland will travel to 9-3 Toronto on Tuesday.
