Dear Editor:I have been a fairly loyal Democrat for most of my life. However, some years, such as this year, I cannot support the presidential candidate.Hillary Clinton has done little to earn my respect. She has a history of changing her views for political reasons and misleading the public. She talks about overturning Citizens United, yet takes full advantage of it. She has a history of pandering to Wall Street and banking interests for personal gain. Dear Editor,I would like to acknowledge the fine job that the Columbiana County Fair Board has done the past several years. There have been many improvements to the fairgrounds and it is a good thing for our community.This Fair Board has been the most active board in a long time. I, too, walk the fairgrounds everyday and see many people working to plant flowers and take care of them, paving, improving the track for events, etc. Yes, there are always improvements to be made, but they will come.I don't think any of the board members would do anything to harm the environment, in fact, it ...

Dear Editor:I am writing on behalf of myself and my family in support of the recent actions taken by the county commission regarding the Hancock County Animal Shelter. The shelter as operated by the foundation was turning people away because there was no space, which was due to a no-kill or low-kill policy.If the foundation wishes to establish a shelter operated according to its own philosophy, it is free to do so with funds it raises itself. If it wishes to operate a county shelter supported by tax dollars, it must serve county residents and operate to the satisfaction of the county ...

Dear Editor:I listened to a radio talk show host and he was speaking of the "haves" versus the "have nots" in this upcoming election. Dear Editor;I am so thankful to live in East Liverpool. I had a wonderful experience working with the staff of East Liverpool High School for the Olde Guard Luncheon. I would like to thank Mr. Taylor, the secretaries and the custodians for a job well done.I would also like to thank the football team and the volunteers for helping with the valet parking.Planning a large event is so easy when you work with Bricker's. Safety forces lauded

Dear Editor:In these times when there is so much negative reaction to law enforcement and other community responders, may I share with the tri-state area how blessed those of us are who live in Newell.About 12:45 am on Tuesday, a very large portion of Hancock County was plunged into darkness. Within the next half-hour, our Volunteer Fire Department rolled out the big truck and started patrolling the community. Not long after that I saw the Hancock County sheriff deputies joined them.
