Not for Hillary

Dear Editor:I have read many Letters to the Editor in many local newspapers recently and I have come to this conclusion -very few that are voting for Hillary Clinton have bragged about her vision for America, her honesty, her integrity, or her believability. (Personally I would not believe her if she told me it was raining and I was wet clear to my knees.)Hillary Clinton stated on CBS News that she wants to have 500 million solar panels in America by the end of her first term. I researched the top 10 solar panel companies in the world and this is what I found: nine out 10 solar panel ...

National destruction

Dear Editor:The "Culture War" against our nation's founding era is an assault on our DNA. Distinctions emblazed in our founding documents, as never before, are at risk. Removing our founding principles from our body politic, is the equivalent of snatching the skeletal system from the body human: A rotting corpse and nation turns dust. Our political person mirrors Heb./Christian revelation with the cream of historic human thought, on freedom. How? Ideally, the maximum amount of freedom, with the minimum amount of government - constitutionally restricting those in power. Why? Restrictions ...

Cranial abnormality

Dear Editor:Newsflash for liberals, progressives, socialists, or whatever name democrats are currently using: The founding fathers did not adopt the 2nd Amendment because people needed guns to hunt; nor was it just so we could hold off Indian attacks; nor was it just so we could keep robbers at bay; nor just to enter shooting competitions or to show off our gun collections. No, what they had in mind was that someday a tyrannical government would appear and usurp citizens' rights. If that did occur, they wanted citizens armed and ready to repel such tyranny. Whether it be one man or one ...

Drugs not a new problem

Dear Editor:A disturbing photograph of a child with his grandmother and her friend who nearly overdosed due to heroin in East Liverpool has made national headlines and put a face on the ongoing heroin epidemic. The vehicle was stopped by the police due to erratic driving. The two individuals in the front seat, James Lee Acord and Rhonda L. Pasek, were revived by EMTs. Acord has been sentenced to 360 days in jail due to driving under the influence and endangering a child. Pasek, the boy's grandmother, pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, endangering a child, and not wearing ...

Supply & Demand?

Dear Editor:Like most Americans, I am in total shock over our current drug epidemic. What is really scary is there doesn't seem to be a quick fix, but for me I have some issues with just that. For example, we invade Afghanistan, where their primary crop is poppies - from which heroin is derived yet although heroin is outlawed in every country we didn't eradicate the crop. Now I'm sure there were some lame duck excuse for not - like other products are made from such, etc.In reality, whatever their GNP would be from other products, our country alone could probably double it. And save ...

Facts about the Animal Shelter Foundation

Dear Editor:The Hancock County Animal Shelter Foundation has done some amazing things, while saving many animals. We believe all lives matter. No animal is "put to sleep" due to space or time limits. "Euthanasia" should not be a primary means of population control. It is not humane, nor is it effective. What does work are adoption events, spay/neuter clinics, education services and clinics, responsible pet ownership, and foster programs. It is proven that the programs HCASF provide, work. The Hancock County Animal Shelter staff and our volunteers provided such services, resulting in record ...
