Two longtime Beaver Local employees honored

LISBON — The passing of two longtime Beaver Local School District employees was recognized by the Board of Education in August. The lives of Brenda Vujakyla and Rick Seibert were both honored during the meeting for their dedicated service to Beaver Local students. Vujakyla taught sixth grade in the district for more than 35 years before retiring in 2011. She passed away on July 26 at the age of 72. CCESC to provide hands-on career exploration at the 7th Annual Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo

LISBON — The Columbiana County Educational Service Center (CCESC) is partnering in the 7th Annual Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo. Dennis Dunham, director of teaching and learning for the CCESC, said during the August board meeting that the event scheduled for Sept. 22-24 at the Canfield Fairgrounds will provide hands-on career exploration opportunities for students in grades 7-12.
