Salem woman charged with child sex crimes found competent

LISBON — A Salem woman charged with rape and multiple other sex-related acts involving two children over multiple years was declared competent to stand trial. Jan. M. McHenry, 40, North Ellsworth Avenue, will now face a jury trial at 9 a.m. Dec. 8 and a final status hearing at 9 a.m. Nov. 23 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge Megan Bickerton. Bickerton recently found McHenry competent based on an evaluation by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio which she ordered in April. Court News LISBON — A man accused of pushing a woman in the chest during an incident in January was sentenced in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to nine months in prison. Johnathon R. Easterday, 36, Aten Avenue, Wellsville, appeared for sentencing Friday on a third-degree felony charge of domestic violence. He received credit for 92 days served in jail.
