John Boccieri, a former congressman and state legislator, spent more than $75,000 to win the Democratic primary for the open 58th Ohio House District seat. Boccieri’s postprimary report, between April 16 and June 5, shows he raised $21,777 — with $12,500 coming from political action committees — and spent $45,462.66. His largest expense for the period was $23,602.41 to ART Advisors LLC of Columbus for campaign mail. LISBON — As the technology landscape continues to evolve public schools are looking at how to meet the new state requirements on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. Pedestrian hit, killed in Perry Township identified: OSHP

PERRY TWP. (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian hit in an accident in Perry Township Friday night. According to OSHP Lisbon, an Oldsmobile traveled off the right side of the roadway and hit a pedestrian, identified by OSHP as Amanda J. Speigle, 35, of Salem, at 6:17 p.m. on State Route 45 in front of the Salem Golf Club. Speigle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she later passed away at the hospital, according to OSHP. The driver of the car was unharmed.
