Columbiana County park board reverses Scenic Vista rental fees

LISBON — The Columbiana County Park District Board voted 4-1 this week to undo the previous board’s approval of rental fees for the pavilion and log cabin at Scenic Vista Park, with district commissioner Neal Bayless casting the lone no vote. “I think there should be a nominal fee on them to keep them maintained,” Bayless said when asked about his no vote. Park District Chairman Tom Butch said the previous board voted to approve the fees but did not vote in a policy to govern the fees. Sheriff’s Office — A caller on Shady Lane, Center Township reported at 7:57 p.m. Saturday that a woman was walking on and off the roadway throwing her hands in the air. A deputy spoke with the woman from Lisa Lane, Center Township, who was walking off the road back to her residence. — A caller in Hanover Township reported at 7:24 a.m. Saturday that a white truck was parked on Woodsdale Drive in front of her driveway blocking access to her garage so she could not leave. River Museum to host John Hancock portrayal Sunday

On Sunday at the River Museum in Wellsville, William Johnson will portray John Hancock. Johnson is author of seven books set during the Revolutionary War and is currently working on number eight. The museum is open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Johnson is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. (Submitted photo)
