Wellsville to conduct smoke testing on sanitary sewer system

WELLSVILLE — The Village of Wellsville will be conducting smoke testing on the village’s sanitary sewer system from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 14. According to council member Cindy Mick, Property/Sewage Committee chairperson, the testing will involve the opening and entering of every other manhole in streets and public utility easements to locate breaks and defects in the sewer system and the locations where storm and other surface water enters the sewer system. Sheriff’s Office — Deputies responded at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday to Rose Drive, Center Township, for a domestic dispute, advised by both parties that everything was verbal and one party would be leaving. The person leaving received a courtesy ride to the BP on state Route 154 where a friend was picking him up. — A deputy at 12:20 a.m. July 4 assisted Lisbon Police in recovering stolen bikes on state Route 45, Elkrun Township. Officers were able to identify the people who had stolen the bikes, and then later recovered them. The bikes were returned back to the owners and warrants ...
