Three new faces joining Hancock County school board

NEW CUMBERLAND – Three new faces will be joining the Hancock County Board of Education in July, coming in to office shortly after the board has been stripped of much of its authority by the state. According to unofficial results Tuesday night, Tiffany Gale of Weirton, Melissa Bane of Weirton, and Jeff Woofter of New Cumberland, are set to take their seats at the beginning of the district's fiscal year, July 1. Liverpool Twp. trustees to consider promoting fire chief to building inspector

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP – Liverpool Township trustees are considering promoting the fire chief to building inspector. Trustee Mike Bahen made the suggestion of promoting Fire Chief Jacob Russell, Liverpool Township Volunteer Fire Department, to building inspector during Tuesday’s meeting of the Liverpool Township Board of Trustees. Saltwell Road intersection reopens near county facilities

LISBON — Saltwell Road in Lisbon is reopened. Lisbon water department workers removed the barricades mid-morning Tuesday, allowing motorists access to the road from state Route 45 west to Dickey Drive and beyond. The closure of that section of Saltwell Road had been extended to May 14, but Lisbon Water Department Senior Plant Operator Chris Peterson said the project to replace a collapsed sewer line was completed Friday, with all the equipment removed Monday to make way for the opening Tuesday. LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners declared May as Foster Care Month and learned that May is also Fraud Awareness Month, with both recognized by the county Department of Job and Family Services.
