Hellbender Film Screening Series coming to Columbiana County

THE PLAINS, Ohio — In partnership with local organizations across the region, Rural Action will present a 2026 film screening series celebrating the Eastern Hellbender, one of North America’s largest salamanders, and the ongoing efforts to restore and protect Appalachian Ohio’s waterways. The series will feature four community screenings, including two in Columbiana County, each showcasing two inspiring short films that highlight the ecology of the Eastern Hellbender and local watershed conservation work.
