River Museum hosts John Hancock program

1 min read

There were approximately 35 people in attendance at the River Museum in Wellsville on Sunday, where William Johnson portrayed John Hancock. Hancock was famed for his signature and, it should be noted, that he was the first delegate in the Second Continental Congress to commit treason against the British Crown. Unlike all others, he and Sam Adams were the only Americans denied the possibility of a pardon...they would be hanged. Johnson has visited the museum on past occasions as well as speaking at organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution. He is formerly from Youngstown, but now resides in Latrobe, Pa.
