September and October events at Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center

EAST LIVERPOOL – The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center has announced the following activities for September and October: Saturday, Sept. 5 from 1 to 2 p.m. – Ohio School of Falconry. The Ohio School of Falconry will be set up in front yard of the Wildlife Education Center. Joe Dorian will demonstrate how the birds fly and capture their food and talk about each bird. Guests will be able to take pictures of the birds. At the end of the program, 10 names will be drawn from those attending the program (must be at least 9 years old to do this). Section of Stookesberry Road closed for flooding issue

LISBON — A section of Stookesberry Road is closed for now where there’s a dip and the road is flooded over off of state Route 45 outside Lisbon. Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson announced the closure, which happened Sunday after heavy rains, saying the creek coming down near a culvert has flooded over the road, adding “there’s nothing we can do. It’s all backing up from downstream. Dawson said motorists can go on state Route 45 and backtrack at the other end of Stookesberry to gain access.
