Wellsville Flood Wall Training Canceled
WELLSVILLE -- The Oct. 17 closure of Main Street in Wellsville near the marina for the fire department to conduct its annual flood wall training has been canceled. The training has been postponed until spring.
Main Street will remain open, Wellsville Fire Chief Barry Podwel said. This pertains only to the planned road closure near the marina and has no impact on the Main Street closure downtown.
The fire department will now conduct two flood wall trainings in 2027: the first one in spring, probably sometime in April on the main flood walls, and the second in October on the smaller flood walls.
