Fatal crash in St. Clair Township still under investigation

LISBON — An accident which took the life of a Negley woman last month remains under investigation, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol report identifying the other driver as John Lee Shepherd, 41, Hamilton Lane, East Palestine. Katelyn McKenzie Williams, 26, Navajo Trail, Negley, was killed when her southeastbound Ford Escape on state Route 170 was struck head-on by a northwestbound Chevy Silverado driven by Shepherd, who crossed the center line at 7:30 p.m. April 25 in St. Clair Township. Wellsville school board tables non-renewal of contract for teacher

WELLSVILLE – The Wellsville school board Monday night held an extended executive session before tabling action on the non-renewal of a teaching contract. The board tabled the issue regarding the contract of Mitchell McDowell, a Daw Elementary fourth-grade teacher, following four hours behind closed doors. Board members unanimously agreed to discuss at a later date the matter of the contract non-renewal at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
