SALINEVILLE — Southern Local’s girls basketball team is set to go for an outright Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference title and the school record for wins in a season on Wednesday as the Indians host Columbiana. The Indians are 21-0 after a 49-40 win over Caldwell on Saturday in the OVAC Class 2A final at the ECO Center. It was the first OVAC championship for the school. After fending off the Golden Bears for the OVAC championship on Saturday night, the Redskins came out Monday night at home with a lot of energy and never trailed on the way to a 44-28 repeat victory in a makeup game on Coach D Court. WARREN — Wellsville junior twins Makayla and Madelyn Landess advanced as individuals and the Crestview boys and girls bowling teams advanced out of the Division II sectional tournament at Freeway Lanes on Sunday.
