Oak Glen’s Murray gives West Virginia speed to burn

WHEELING – West Virginia announced its Defensive Backs and Wide Receivers for Saturday night’s 80th annual OVAC Rudy Mumley All-Star Football Game at Wheeling Island Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 7:15.
A brief capsule of each player follows:
LOGAN MURRAY (Oak Glen) – This 6-foot, 180-pounder is a third generation player in the game, following his uncles, Tim Cashdollar (2004) and Preston Murray (2012).
As a senior, he ran for 1,372 yards and 16 touchdowns on 146 carries for the Golden Bears, earning first team all-OVAC and second team all-West Virginia Class AA.
He played for head coach T.J. Miller at Oak Glen and is undecided on his college decision.
He is the son of Brad and Krystle Murray of Chester.
GLENN BROWN JR. (University) – A 6-0, 180-pounder, Brown averaged 47.4 yards receiving for the Mohigans.
He played for head coach Eric Snyder as a member of the Hawks. He will attend Glenville State University in the fall.
Brown is the son of Kristen Boyce and resides in Morgantown.
ZAIIDEN LOCKETT (Morgantown) – This 5-10, 170-pounder charted 50 tackles for the Mohigans last season while also recording two quarterback sacks, a pair of interceptions and deflected three passes.
He also carried the ball for 217 yards and had 113 yards in receptions.
He was a second team all-West Virginia Class AAAA honoree.
Lockett played for head coach Sean Biser at Morgantown. He will also attend Glenville State in the fall.
He is the son of Josiah Lockett and resides in Morgantown.
ISAAC SANDS (Wheeling Park) – A 5-10, 175-pounder, Sands charted 215 career tackles, defended 32 passes and picked off nine passes for the Patriots. Offensively, he carried the ball 104 times for 568 yards and five touchdowns, while also catching 26 passes for 288 yards and three scores. He had 1,253 all-purpose yards.
Sands played for head coach Chris Daugherty at Wheeling Park and will attend West Liberty University.
He is the son of Erika Kovach and resides in Wheeling.
DONTE MASTERS (Weir) – A 5-9, 165-pounder, Masters had 41 catches for 464 yards, made 31 tackles and defended six passes for the Red Riders last fall.
His cousin, Josh Smith, played in the 2006 game and his uncle, Brad Stevens, was a member of the 1984 West Virginia squad.
Masters played for head coach Quincy Wilson at Weir and will attend Bethany College.
He is the son of Melissa and Paul Masters. They reside in Weirton.
FINN LOY (Magnolia) – A 5-10, 170-pounder, Loy honorable mention all-OVAC for the Blue Eagles.
He played for head coach Mike Mason and will attend WVU-Parkersburg in the fall.
He is the son of Kandi Loy-Kay and Ronald Kay. They reside in New Martinsville.
CAIN MARTIN (John Marshall) – This 5-9, 150-pounder was a standout wide receiver for the Monarchs.
He played for head coach Mark Cisar and will attend West Virginia Northern in the fall.
He is the son of Brea Curto and Craig Martin. He resides in McMechen.
