Indian Creek gets rare win at Potter Fieldhouse
WINTERSVILLE — Caden Saffle’s layup with 2:20 left gave Indian Creek the lead and neither team could score the rest of the way in a 43-42 Redskin win over the Potters on Friday at Potter Fieldhouse.
Saffle led the Redskins with 18 points. Indian Creek is 3-11. East Liverpool fell to 7-6.
Dre’Keim Abercrombie had 16 points for the Potters but did go down with an a leg injury on the final play of the game.
The Potters are back in action today at Oak Glen.

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local found a way to overcome a nine-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Brooke 61-54 in overtime on Friday.
Brooke had a 32-23 lead at the end of the third quarter and the Beavers tied it at 49 heading into the overtime.
Beaver Local is 12-2 and 9-0 in Buckeye 8 games.
Beaver Local will play at Buckeye Local on Tuesday. The Beaver are expected to play in the Buckeye 8 championship game on Jan. 24 at the ECO Center in St. Clairsville. The opponent will likely be St. Clairsville.

YOUNGSTOWN –Valley Christian remaining within striking distance in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference by downing Southern 79-30 on Friday.
The Eagles improve to 7-4 overall and 7-2 in league play, one game behind Columbiana and Lisbon
The Indians drop to 1-12 and 0-9 in the EOAC.
Jacob McCurdy led the Indians with 11 points.
Valley will host Heartland on Tuesday, while Southern travels to Tuscarawas Central on Wednesday.

SALINEVILLE — Katie Kellogg and Allyssa Shroades combined for 45 points and 11 assists as Southern Local ran past Valley Christian, 64-23, Friday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Indians improve to 17-0 overall and 11-0 in league play, one game ahead of Columbiana.
Kellogg totaled 23 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and six steals and Shroades had 22 points, including six three-pointers, with two assists, two rebounds and four steals.
Makenna Jones added 13 points, three asssists, three steals and two rebounds, Maddy Jones seven rebounds and two assists and Kalayah Crute grabbed four rebounds.
Kellogg scored 12 points and Shroades seven in the first quarter as the Indians took a 21-5 lead. They widened the margin to 47-12 at halftime and held Valley scoreless in the third quarter.
Valley (5-6, 4-6 EOAC) will play at Lowellville on Saturday, while Southern travels to Leetonia on Thursday.
