Beaver Local boys have a new king of the Hill

MINERVA — Beaver Local senior Owen Hill became the school’s all-time leading boys scorer as he tallied 27 points in the Beavers’ 56-52 win over Minerva on Tuesday.
Hill sits on 1,096 points which is 11 more than Jake Robinson’s total of 1,085 set in 2004. Aiden Dray added 12 points for the winners.
Minerva’s Rowen Hoffee also had a milestone as he reached the 1,000-point mark for his career. Hoffee led the Lions with 24 points.
Beaver Local (3-0) hosts Indian Creek on Friday.
Minerva (1-2) hosts Salem on Friday.
Minerva won the jayvee game, 60-27. Jhett Boyd had seven points for the Beavers.

Wellsville 55, East Palestine 26
EAST PALESTINE — Austin Adkins had 19 points to propel Wellsville to a 55-26 win at East Palestine on Tuesday night.
Jeron Jackson added 13 points and six assists for the Tigers, 1-3 and 1-0 in the EOAC. East Palestine fell to 0-1.
Gage Vance added 17 rebounds, while Cooper Frank and Zac Banks had seven rebounds each.
For the Bulldogs, Drew Bycroft had six ponts, six rebounds, three steals and three blocks. Braydon Plum added six points, five boards and two steals. Peyton Rutledge had 10 rebounds.
East Palestine won the jayvee game, 53-49. Kealin Simon had 22 points for the winners. Zac Banks had 15 points for the Tigers. Cooper Frank added 18 points.
East Palestine is at United on Friday. Wellsville is set to host Lisbon on Friday.

LISBON — Lisbon’s boys basketball team bounced Southern 69-28 to open the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference slate on Tuesday.
Lisbon is 3-1 and 1-0 in the league, while Southern is 0-2 and 0-1.
AJ Ramgeet continued his strong senior season with 27 points and 10 rebounds for Lisbon. Blaine Barnes added 22 points. Aidan Myers had six rebounds and three steals. Aidan Ramgeet added four assists.
Landon Heffner had nine points for the Indians. Jack Pitts added five rebounds.
Lisbon won the jayvee game, 28-20. Cooper Terdina had 18 points for Lisbon. Jack Pitts added eight for Southern.
Lisbon is at Wellsville on Friday. Southern hosts Valley on Friday.
