Dear Editor:I recently told friends and family that I was going to register as a Republican for the 2016 primary. They asked why I was leaving the Democratic Party after a lifetime of working so hard for it. My response was: "I am not leaving it, the Democrat Party left me!"I was born when Truman was president and he had a sign on his desk, "The buck stops here." Dear Editor:I want to kindly ask the citizens of East Liverpool for their consideration in passing the capital improvement levy for Thompson Park.I take great pride in Thompson Park. I've put my heart and soul toward bettering the park and the great strides that have been made within the last few years. Dear Editor:The problem isn't Trump nor is he the only answer, he is part of the solution.Trump is a gauntlet being slapped across the face of the political elite. For decades the slow methodical movement away from the true function of the three branches of American government has occurred. Argument against admitting refugees

Dear Editor:Those who approve of admitting the refugees would probably not take any themselves. OK, I know that was a cheap shot, and the weakest of the arguments.We can't properly investigate the people who are coming here. Tashfeen Malik - the woman who was part of the San Bernardino incident - was investigated three times and still made it into the U.S. She also had an infant at home.
