Applaud Judge Amato’s actions

Dear Editor:Reading the headline article of the Friday, May 13th edition of The Review I was throughly impressed with the swift and decisive actions of Columbiana County Judge Chris Amato by his substantially increasing the bonds of two individuals that were charged with absolutely senseless crimes. One was for the recent random drive by shooting in Wellsville where this defendant shot up the car of a mother letting her daughter out to attend a birthday party - neither knew the other. Then, as pointed out by Wellsville Police Officer Steve Rodgers, this Rhodes Scholar then bragged about ...

A Sheep is Found

Dear Editor:Our God is gracious and all knowing. God's Holy Spirit is ever present to draw people to a saying knowledge of Christ the Savior. On a Saturday, my wife and I had a yard sale. At this time a young woman came and was looking through books for sale. I said these are all Christian reading. Are you a Christian? No, she replied but I went to church last week. My son is 12 and I need to find a church but don't know where. I said, there are a lot of good churches in our area. Find one that teaches the word of God and the new birth and born again into God's family believing Christ ...

Making a difference

Dear Editor:Something incredible is happening in our small town that's very encouraging and needs to be shared. Two years ago, the city hired a new health commissioner, Carol Cowan, to take the reins in promoting healthy living in our valley. The accomplishments in those two years are absolutely amazing and have benefitted the entire community in one way or another. Some of the programs that have been paid for through grants and/or sponsors include: Walmart grant for Evening of Nutrition and Healthy Eating 2014; Oral Cancer screening grant from Delta Dental 2016; summer youth environmental ...

Don’t go with the ‘elite’

Dear Editor:I read the opinion piece by George Will - "Who will follow Trump off the cliff." I am a combat-wounded Korean War veteran and I love my country. When I read things like he put in his piece, it makes me feel very sad at what is happening to this country. The other day, on the news, I heard that the Bush family was "staying out of the presidential race." Then I read the opinion in The Review by Cal Thomas "Socialism's false promise." When you read the articles together, you get an awakening - the Republican Party is being destroyed by people who did not get their way. The Bush ...

Wake up America

Dear Editor:The phrase "separation of church and church" is not in the constitution. The first amendment reads "Congress shall make no laws regarding an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise theory."Our nation was founded on freedom and religion. Everyone has the right, freedom to believe or not believe - to think or not to think. That is the beauty of living in America.Having that freedom and that right is being destroyed and trampled by a few.Wake up America - protect that freedom and that right. Stand up. Speak up. Don't be trampled or it will be too late to say ...

Thank caregivers, hospital staff

Dear Editor:National Hospital Week is May 8-14. It is the perfect time to celebrate the heroes who care for and provide support to their communities.Every day, these "Hospital Heroes" deliver our babies, mend broken bones, and save lives. They get us home faster through innovative care. They even keep us healthier through preventive care services that ensure we get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. They deserve a "thank you," today and every day. Yet Congress has cut federal funding for hospitals by $158.1 billion since 2010. If they continue to slash this funding ...
