Here we go again

2 min read

Dear Editor:

Here we go again: dictatorial politicians (this time at the Court House) have crammed their will down the throats of the public.

Monday’s headline directed our attention to the Hancock County Commissioners plan to reach their greedy, grubby hands into taking over the Animal Shelter. They carried out their threat to take over the Shelter regardless of public opinion.

Overwhelming approval of the Animal Shelter levies on the ballot was ignored. They payed no attention to widespread public support for the shelter. Our commissioners only want what’s best for the commissioners: the public be damned!

This is what happens when voters choose to vote for the same people over and over because they have the correct party label. But wait a moment. Two years ago West Virginians cleared out the legislature and after 70 years of Democrat rule changed its make-up. This year primaries nationwide have shocked all the pundits with an unexpected display of public outrage.

Message to Swartzmiller, Davis and Barnabei: We have had enough! We are tired of politicians deciding what is best for us regardless of public opinion. All the folks in the courthouse had best take this into consideration. If you decide to stir up the bee’s nest you had best consider what angry bees might do.

Your names will be stored in our memories and we will know what to do when you decide to run for office again. Good luck to you when you ask for support from the voters in Hancock County-you are going to need it.
